Watford Borough Council, along with key project partners Groundwork East, is excited to announce the launch of a captivating new podcast series, produced with the help from West Herts College, dedicated to the River Colne.

The ‘Tales of the River’ podcast series will delve into the rich history, environmental significance, and future prospects of this vital waterway in Watford. Hosted by the Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor, each episode promises to be an enlightening journey for listeners of all ages.
As part of our ‘Tales of the River’ project, each episode will explore a unique aspect of the river. Listeners can look forward to an engaging mix of historical insights, discussions on environmental impact, and the important role nature plays in mental health. The Mayor will be joined by various experts and guests who bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to the conversation.
The project has been made possible thanks to a grant of over £250,000 from National Lottery players and The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Each episode will be enriched with sound bites from events and activities associated with the broader River Colne project, providing listeners with an immersive experience. These audio snapshots will capture the vibrant and dynamic efforts being made to preserve and enhance the river's ecosystem.
