The vibrant heart of Watford’s natural beauty, the River Colne, takes centre stage at the ‘River Colne Community Festival’ on Saturday 18 January 2025 from 10:30am – 1:30pm. Join us at the Wellspring Church Centre for an exciting day of discovery, connection, and action as we celebrate our beloved river and the collective efforts to protect and enhance it.
This free event offers something for everyone, from nature enthusiasts to curious minds eager to learn more about the environment.
Event highlights:
‘Ask Me Anything’: Engage with river experts and local environmental champions in open discussions about the River Colne’s ecology, history, and future.
River Amble: Explore the beauty of the River Colne on a guided walk, learning about its unique ecosystem and the work being done to preserve it.
Volunteer opportunities: Discover how you can make a tangible impact on our river, whether through monitoring its health, organizing clean ups, or joining community initiatives.
Interactive activities: Experience the fascinating world beneath the water's surface with live riverfly sampling demonstrations.
Eco raffle and showcase: Support our efforts while winning fantastic prizes, and learn about ongoing projects and partnerships safeguarding the River Colne.
